Are you thinking about hiring a bouncy castle or inflatable for a special event?
If so then do you know what to look for when booking one?
If its for a child's party then you are probably thinking about different themes, or even what to hire to keep the adults entertained. While these are obviously important to the success of your event there are other important factors that most people do not even think of. For example, did you know that all bouncy castles and inflatables should be safety tested and certified annually to comply with European safety standard? These tests need to be carried out and done by a competent person. Every bouncy castle operator is expected to have these tests done and should have the test certificates to show you if you ask to see them. Its is your right and responsibility to check they have these when booking.
ALL electrical equipment such as fans, leads etc are required to have current PAT test certificates and these also should be done annually. The operator should be using RCD's on all plugs to ensure every step is taken to prevent electric shocks.
It is also very important that you check that the bouncy castle provider has a sufficient insurance. This should able to be produced should you ask to see it, so again please check that this is in place. Please be aware that this insurance is only valid if the above safety certificates are in place. Many venues will also want a copy for their own records before you're event, so make sure this is something that they can and are prepared to produce fro them.
